LOOE SEA SWIMMERS
Looe
Looe is a picturesque fishing town in South East Cornwall, separated in two by the river Looe. With it's dramatic scenery, historic charm and year round activities, Looe is a popular destination. Some of the buildings in Looe date from the 15th Century, with cobbled streets and independent boutiques and restaurants. The main beach at Looe, where we swim from, has a soft sandy beach, which slopes gently to provide a safe swimming spot. Approximately one mile from the main Looe beach, lies Looe Island. Looe Island now belongs to Cornwall Wildlife Trust which manage the island as a nature reserve. On the rocks and waters surrounding the island, grey seal's can often be found and occasionally have been known to pop along to our swims, don't worry they are just inquisitive. Looe Island is also the start line of the popular Looe Island charity swim: The Chestnut Appeal for Men's Health, one which many of Looe Sea Swimmers participate in.
