Christmas Party at The Globe Inn 2023.
What a night!
We had games like dress up a snowman competition, write a limerick, a quiz, raffle, auctions, certificates and much merriment. I'm looking forward to the Christmas party 2024 already!

Sam Day - One of our own (Looe Sea Swimmer).
Sam only ventured into open water swimming around 5yrs and started from a place of being absolutely petrified to now knowing it’s her place of relaxation, adventure and excitement. She wanted to test and challenge herself so joined a team to swim the English Channel in 2021 which was incredible however it only further fuelled her desire to push herself further after successfully completing it and see how far she can go. Now in Jan 2024 she will be competing in the Great British Championships in Ice Swimming, from this event the world championship team is being selected.
Adrenaline Quarry have been a huge support with offering her time in the quarry to train when conditions have not been suitable in the sea.
Part of the money raised from the raffle/auction at the Xmas party will be given to Sam to support towards her training, equipment, travelling to colder parts of the country so she can train and to attend the competition in Cheltenham 6th-7th Jan 2024.
Duck rescue July 2022
After one of our weekly swims, 7 newly hatched ducklings were separated from their parents in the river and were on looe beach in distress. Without the parents, they would have not survived that night.
The parents were nowhere to be found so team Gregory came to the rescue and very kindly took them in. There was a high risk still that they could die but having a vet amongst the group and very kind hearted people, fast forward 8 weeks, they have moved into their new home at Tregoad ponds. We can still go and visit them now.
Thank you and well done Julie Gregory Martin and Dr Jas Gregory ….It was sad to see them go but what a stunning habitat they now have to live in with other ducks and no doubt have babies of their own.
A real success story thanks to some amazing people feeding and looking after them every day.
